Curro school finds its groove

MIDRAND – The Curro Midrand schools' staff got together in Halfway House for a special team building day.

The staff from the Midrand Curro Schools got together at the Curro Midrand Halfway Gardens Campus for special drum session on 12 October.

Marketing coordinator of the Curro Midrand Sagewood Campus Vanitha Govindasamy said that the drumming session was initiated by the school’s Transformation and Diversity Committee as a team-building exercise among staff at the Midrand-based Curro schools.

The session was run by Drum Busters, a company who runs special corporate events and team building programmes while promoting traditional African drumming.

Govindasamy said, “Staff discovered that collectively, they are able to produce great sound and rhythm, simply by listening to one another and focusing on their part in the group rhythm.

“The spirit and energy that the Drum Busters brought with them was absolutely incredible and well received.”

Curro Midrand Sagewood Campus high school principal Johann du Toit said, “It was a brilliant experience. I really enjoyed the day and the staff gave some positive feedback.”

He added that the day brought everyone from grounds staff, bus drivers to all teachers and was a great opportunity to interact with each other.
