Rabie Ridge Police Station wants help catching car hijackers

KANANA – A female resident's vehicle was hijacked outside her house.


A female’s vehicle was hijacked around 9pm in Kanana Ext 4 on 25 August.

According to Constable Jacob Nlhongo of Rabie Ridge Police Station, the victim was about to leave her house. As she was reversing her motor vehicle she was approached by two men, one in possession of a firearm.

“The armed suspect then pointed the firearm at the lady before the two hijackers instructed her to get out of her vehicle, a silver-grey Kia Picanto.

“She got out of the vehicle and left it idling. The two suspects entered the vehicle and fled with it.”

Nlhongo confirmed that no shots were fired and no injuries were sustained.

“Rabie Ridge police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to enable us to arrest the perpetrators who are terrorising our community.

“Eyewitnesses or members of the community with information, can visit Rabie Ridge SAPS or call 071 6757 400 or 0113100410.”
