‘Reddy’ for championships in Thailand

MIDRAND – Summerhill Preparatory School and A+ student Nicolene Reddy to represent South Africa at the A+Students International Championships in Thailand.

Summerhill Preparatory school A+ student Nicolene Reddy will be heading to Thailand to represent South Africa in the A+Students International Championships.

Teacher at the school, David Bolton said, “Nicolene Reddy is an A+ student in more ways than one. She is involved in an extra-curricular organisation called A+Students. This is a Japanese method of education that teaches children as young as two years old to solve complex arithmetic problems by playing with educational toys like the Soroban and A+Play Maths range of educational toys.”

On 11 May, Nicolene attended the provincial competitions. Bolton added, “Each student writes exams according to their age group. She achieved the highest result placing her as a winner regionally.” She moved on to the National Championship in Krugersdorp on 3 August where she came up on top in her age group. Bolton added, “This means she will now represent South Africa at the A+Students International Championship, which will be hosted in Thailand later in December.”
