Tip-off leads police to arrest

CARLSWALD – Community member helps police arrest drug dealer suspect.


The Midrand police arrested a suspected drug dealer in Carlswald after patrolling officers received a tip-off from a community member of a person dealing marijuana near a shopping centre in the area.

Spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station, Constable Thabiso Selowa, said the officers arrived at the scene where they met the community member who gave them the tip-off and pointed out the suspect. The police approached the suspect and searched him.

They found a number of zip-lock bags containing marijuana. The suspect was arrested on 30 July and detained at the Midrand Police Station. He appeared in the Midrand Magistrates’ Court on 31 July where he was granted bail.
