More than 256 people searched in an operation

MIDRAND – Community members, security companies and the Midrand police keep the streets safe in a patrol operation.


Midrand Police Station with the help of local security companies and Midrand Community Police Forum conducted a patrol operation and roadblocks in the area.

According to Midrand police spokesperson, Constable Eliot Mabulane, on 7 August Midrand police officers, security companies such as, TRSS, Melmo, Reasebetsa, ARN, Ithuba and Axon with the help of the Midrand Community Police Forum’s of Sector 2 and 3 and other volunteering community members led by Captain Thapelo Molepo participated in the operation.

“Close to 75 motor vehicles were stopped and searched and more than 256 people were detained and searched at the police station,” he said. “Three arrests were successful on the day for drug possession. The suspects are to expected to appear at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court soon.”

Mabulane said members of the community could visit the Midrand Police Station or call 011 347 1600 or 079 877 6484 for help with reporting a crime
