Off-duty firefighter dies in tragic accident
JOHANNESBURG – Conveying his condolences, David Tembe said that Kambaka was involved in a fatal accident next to Leeukop on 11 August.

Johannesburg Emergency Management Services‘ spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi, announced that a firefighter lost his life in an accident on Sunday night (11 August).
Firefighter Nkateko Kambaka was involved in a tragic accident in Kyalami. Details surrounding the cause of the accident are unknown as yet but the police are investigating.
According to Mulaudzi, Kambaka was based at the Cosmo City Fire Station. “He was also a dedicated, disciplined member of pipe band/drill squad, may his soul rest in peace,” said Mulaudzi.
On 12 August, Chief of Johannesburg Metro Police Department David Tembe, Executive Mayor Herman Mashaba, MMC for Public Safety Michael Sun and colleagues from public safety went to Kambaka’s home to pay their respects and offer their condolences to the friends and colleagues of the fallen hero.
