The Midrand police made a number of arrests through various operations at the end of May.
A spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Constable Thabiso Selowa said that the arrests were made with the assistance of different stakeholders, including the Community Policing Forum and security companies.
Police arrested 50 suspects for:
• 14 for driving under the influence
• 11 for shoplifting
• 10 for theft
• 5 for dealing an illegal substance
• 3 for the possession of an
illegal substance
• 5 for fraud
• 2 for common assault related
to domestic violence.
Selowa added that the suspects have either appeared or will appear at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court.
