Gauteng cabinet members sworn in

JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng premier David Makhura told the newly-appointed MECs that public office is about working hard.


Gauteng premier David Makhura’s cabinet members have been sworn in at Emoyeni Conference Centre on 30 May. Makhura announced the members of his sixth cabinet members on Wednesday, 29 May.

Makhura congratulated the newly-appointed MECs and emphasised that public office is about working hard. 

Makhura said that collectively the team represents the ANC’s accumulated governance experience, and has the energy and fresh ideas required to fulfil the mandate of the 6th administration to grow Gauteng together.

Makhura also applauded Panyaza Lesufi, former MEC for Education, for his contribution to the province. He added that by the end of Lesufi’s term, the Gauteng province was one of the leading performing provinces in the country.
