Midrand SPCA inspector saves a distressed kitty

MIDRAND – The Midrand SPCA is pleased to have rescued an animal in distress.

The Midrand SPCA has expressed appreciation after one of their inspectors, Jerry Seemise, rescued a cat that had climbed up onto an electrical pole in Kaalfontein on 11 May.

According to the SPCA, residents heard the cat meowing and dogs barking during the night and the next morning they saw the cat on the pole. A concerned resident contacted the SPCA to save the cat after realising it would not manage to come down on its own.

Seemise responded to the call. “Inspector Seemise managed to place a long ladder up against the pole, climb up and successfully bring the kitty down to safety as it was already stressed,” said the SPCA in a statement.

The statement further stated that the cat and its rescuer were very relieved to be back on solid ground.

The Midrand SPCA thanked the inspector and the resident who reported the situation.

General manager at the Midrand SPCA Pam Pretorious gave an update saying the cat is doing very well.
