UPDATE: Land invaders allegedly rebuild shacks in Rabie Ridge

RABIE RIDGE – Land invaders allegedly rebuild their shacks in Rabie Ridge.

Johannesburg Metro Police have reportedly again removed shacks that were rebuilt overnight after they were initially demolished on 16 April.

According to Rabie Ridge residents, Metro police were called back to the area after land grabbers allegedly put up their shacks again over the course of last night.

The shacks were last demolished on 16 April but this has been an ongoing saga as the land grabbers continue to rebuild their shacks once the police leave the area.

Candice Drachman, a community member, said after the JMPD left on 16 April invaders rebuilt the shacks again.

She confirmed this morning that Metro police came to the site and demolished the shacks once again.

While the JMPD were removing shacks in Ext 1, shacks were being built on the other side of Modderfontein Road in Austin View near Rabie Ridge.

The Midrand Reporter is awaiting confirmation and further information from the authorities. This is a developing story.
