Midrand female entrepreneurs are empowered

MIDRAND – A local entrepreneur hosted a business market day to empower and inspire women in business.

A women’s entrepreneurial day to empower and uplift various women in business took place at Country View, Midrand on 30 March.

The event was hosted by a local entrepreneur, Lizle Wells, who is the founder of Sisters of Ubuntu which was established to support and assist women in business to create networking opportunities among small and big corporates.

Women from all walks of life gathered, interacted and displayed their goods on the day. They enjoyed a day of networking, had a yoga session for relaxation and there were great snacks which women sold along with arts, crafts and clothing.

Wells, who has been an entrepreneur for 15 years, said she understood that women need support in everyday life as well as in business. According to her, Sisters of Ubuntu aims to ensure that women in business can be solely recognised for their effort, hard work and dedication. “Sisters of Ubuntu aims to empower and invest deeply in the lives of sisters nationally.

“I believe that the need to uprise and educate women from all genres of life would make a difference in society. My vision is to create happy and fulfilled women with a great support base to bench on.”

Wells added that she believes in setting an example for the younger generation of women which require role models with stories of perseverance, faith, hard work, and a spirit of never giving up.
