It’s set to be a colourful affair at the Autumn Garden Show

The Autumn Garden Expo will be held from 5 to 7 April at The Herb Farm from 11 am to 3 pm.

With a gin garden, more than 450 herbal plants and a Kids’ Zone, the Autumn Garden Show promises to be a gardening expo with some personality at The Herb Farm in Midrand.

Gardening and Landscape
For some, gardening creates a sense of connection to the earth, helps them to remain present, and provides a cure for stress and anxiety. However, this does not mean it is always done right. If you’re one of these people (no judgement), the Autumn Garden Show is just for you. There will be talks by experienced gardeners on how to plant specific plants such as orchids and herbs, how to arrange fully grown plants around the home, and a talk on ‘listening and talking to roses’ which we can’t help but feel will be very interesting.
Spiral gardens, herb gardens, and flower gardens will all be on display at the Autumn Garden show to inspire new and innovative ideas for the modern garden. Deciding on pot plans, fountains and ornaments have never been easier as it can all be done in one place over one weekend, which is very convenient for those busy city slickers.

Starke Ayres Kids’ Zone
Your kids are able to learn and have fun while doing it. They will get taught on the importance of plants and get educated on different kinds of plants. There will be ponies available at the Pony Perfection stand to pet. They can also ride a pony for a small fee of R20 through the picturesque gardens where kids can enjoy the landscape. There will also be an obstacle course and a playground with fun jungle gyms. Kids will also be taken on an educational tour of the garden. At the end of the day, kids will go home with their own pot plant which they planted themselves and they can watch it grow.

Garden maintenance
Garden maintenance is an integral part of plant growth as no plant grows overnight and needs proper care in order to promote healthy and proper growth. There will be a talk on gardening power tools by Nico’s Mowers which cannot be missed. His showroom on wheels will be offering one-on-one advice all day. Be sure to arrive on time in order not to miss out!
