JRA testing the jetpatcher pothole repair machine

JOHANNESBURG– JRA is set out to repair and rid our roads from potholes.


In a bid to reduce and repair the number of potholes in the area, the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is committed to providing well maintained and safe road infrastructure for all road users.

A statement released by JRA stated that currently some of the roads were damaged by potholes that need urgent attention. The formation of potholes on the city’s roads has doubled due to ageing infrastructure as well as recent months of rains. “As an organisation that is committed to providing quality roads that are accessible, safe and liveable for our communities, the JRA is currently testing the Jetpatcher Road Repair Machine.”

The Jetpatcher system is not there to replace the current workforce, the machine is there to assist JRA to accelerate the patching of potholes and the current workload, as well as up-skill the existing workforce with the new technology of patching potholes.

The JRA tested the Jetpatcher system from 4 to 19 February and the JRA can attest as follows:
