Illegal dumpsters caught in the act by new JMPD undercover unit

JOHANNESBURG – New JMPD undercover unit yields results in fighting illegal dumping.

Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) has a new undercover by-law management unit (BMU) which was launched on 17 February and is already yielding results.

The Metro police have arrested a few culprits who have been caught in the act of illegally dumping.

The Midrand Reporter and our sister publication Fourways Review reported on what residents could do when they witness illegal dumping in their areas.

In the article, residents were urged to report such incidents by sending off tip-offs anonymously to the City of Joburg anti-illegal dumping WhatsApp hotline.

The new unit will now help the fight against illegal dumping.
