The Ivory Park Taxi Association hosted a workshop for their drivers at the Rabie Ridge Hall on 3 February.
Chairperson of the association Johannes Mkhonza said the purpose of the workshop was to remind their operators of the rules pertaining to how they must behave toward passengers.
Mkhonza added that the taxi industry is changing and they need to be part of that change. He also said their drivers are praised by passengers for wearing formal wear on Mondays and Fridays.
The association’s workshop touched on a number of issues including keeping vehicles in good condition, communication and customer care and various topic surrounding taxi rank cleanliness.
Milton Lushaba, who has been a taxi operator for 19 years, said he learnt a lot from the workshop.
