TAKE NOTE: EFF set to march to Ivory Park Police Station against corruption

IVORY PARK – EFF members will march to Ivory Park Police station to deliver a memorandum on 16 February.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Ward 133 of Tembisa will take to the street on 16 February and march to the Ivory Park Police Station to hand over a memorandum. The party wants police visibility at Swazi Inn where they allege crime is prevalent.

“People are getting mugged there during the daylight. Drugs addicts are taking people’s cell phones. People who come from work get mugged in front of everybody and it has turned worse that people are even scared to help the next person being mugged,” alleged EFF Tembisa Ward 133 chairperson, Klaas Seerane.

Seerane said the police should bring their mobile container to the area in order to eradicate crime. He is concerned about the police’s visibility at an informal settlement called ‘Mabena Section Ext 6’. Seerane alleged that drug-related activities are taking place in the area.

“I’m not sure if they are producing nyaope there or if they are buying nyaope. This place is where all the nyaope activities are taking place,” he alleged.
