31 traffic fines issued in North Cluster operation

MIDRAND – Sergeant Matome Tlamela of the Midrand Police Station declares the operation a success.

At least 31 traffic fines amounting to about R35 000 were issued during an operation in the Johannesburg North Cluster.

Police officers, Metro police, local security companies, and members of the national and Gauteng traffic police swooped on problematic roads and taxi ranks in the Midrand area.

According to Sergeant Matome Tlamela the operation was a success.

“We embarked on a series of stop and searches in the area and roadblocks in order to prevent hijackings, house robberies and business robberies.

“This is to ensure visibility in the area. The aim is to reduce crime to zero levels and to arrest those who are involved in criminal activities.”
