Two babies born at Life Carstenhof Hospital on Christmas Day

MIDRAND – The family of one of the babies born on the day shares their joy.

As mothers across South Africa celebrated the arrivals of their bundles of joy on Christmas Day, two babies were born at Life Carstenhof Hospital in Midrand.

Baby boy Myran was the first of the two babies born on this special day at around 11.19am.

Although exhausted, the mother of baby Myran, who wished not to be named, said she was excited at the arrival of her bundle of joy.

“I feel good, I have been resting quite a bit although the baby is keeping me awake,” said the mother.

The grandparents of Myran were beaming with pride as they welcomed their first grandchild into the world.

“We are excited and he is beautiful. We are here to support our child and grandchild. Baby Myran was supposed to arrive on 27 December but he could not wait to make his grand entrance, ” they said.

Sister Lydia Mnguni, who delivered Myran, said it was a smooth delivery.

“Mommy and baby are doing well. We are happy to have our first Christmas baby for 2018. The staff during and after delivery have been amazing,” said Mnguni.

According to a local news channel, as of lunchtime on Christmas Day, more than 50 babies were born at various hospitals across the province.
