#ICYMI: 59-year-old man shot and killed in Midrand

MIDRAND – Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela said they can confirm that a murder case is being investigated but refused confirm the identity of the victim.

Police are investigating a murder case after a 59-year-old man was shot and killed on New Road in Midrand on 1 December.

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela said they can confirm that a murder case is being investigated but refused to confirm the identity of the victim.

“Police are investigating a murder case following a shooting incident in Midrand, in which a 59-year old man was killed on Saturday between 8.30pm and 9pm. Police are not at liberty to disclose nor confirm the identity of the victim,” said Makhubela.

Midrand residents posted on Facebook that police were attending on the scene near a garage but the driver of a white Audi was covered in a foil next to his car.

According to EWN, The Star reported that the man was the chief executive officer for a Gupta-owned mining firm.
