Le Roux Bridge has been added to the list of crime hotspot areas in Noordwyk.
Midrand police spokesperson Sergeant Matome Tlamela has warned Noordwyk residents to be on high alert due to increased crime in the area. “The hotspots have been identified to be Liebenberg Street and Lever, 14th, 5th, 8th, Anaboom, Sagewood and Olifantsfontein roads.”
She added the main crimes were hijacking, housebreakings and robberies.
According to Tlamela the Le Roux Bridge has become notorious for smash-and-grabs. “The crime rate is high in that spot, especially in the afternoon. We are trying our best to increase police visibility during rush hours.”
