Four men arrested in Noordwyk for dealing dagga

MIDRAND – Four men arrested for dealing in dagga after a tip-off leads to a raid in Noordwyk.

Four suspects were arrested by the Midrand police for dealing in dagga on 22 August at about 3pm in a house located in Noordwyk.

The Polokwane provincial training team received a tip-off about a white Chevrolet driving from Mpumalanga to Midrand which was carrying dagga.

“The police were given a Noordwyk address where the dagga was taken to; they followed the information until the arrival at the address. Upon arrival, the police began to raid the property and during the search police found 40 bags of dagga wrapped in brown sellotape,” said Midrand police spokesperson, Sergeant Matome Tlamela.

She continued, “Suddenly a man came from one of the units in the complex and claimed the vehicle loaded with dagga belonged to him. This then resulted in an arrest of the man but the police first ordered him to unlock a room in the house.

“Police found more bags of dagga inside the room. In total four suspects were arrested and are expected to appear at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court soon for the charge of dealing in dagga.”
