Social workers host a day of fun in Ebony Park

MIDRAND – CSC Ebony Park hosts a fun day for children in the community.

 

The children of Ebony park came alive when the Christian Social Council (CSC) held a day of fun and giveaways for them on 26 July.

Social worker Edline Movha said about 100 children were in attendance with the majority of them being between the ages of two and five and the rest ranged from between seven and 14.

The majority of the children were from Ebony Park, Ivory Park and Allandale and some were from the nearby schools.

“We had also invited all the foster parents in the community along with what we call walk-in clients which tend to visit our officers seeking advice and assistance with some of the situations they may be facing at home,” said Movha.

All those in attendance received juice, hot dogs and party packs which were sponsored by CPS Human Resources, food parcels, and some were selected to receive blankets, a portion of the blankets was sponsored by the Lyttelton-Oos Dutch Reformed Church which was represented by Jansie Kilian and Adele Kerck.

Thembi Mhlongo, Shirley van Rooyen, Thembakazi Mredlana, Edline Movha and Mmarou Tuba.

The children spent the day playing netball and soccer among other activities.

“We would like to thank all our sponsors for the support they gave us and we would also like to thank the community for attending and a big thank you to all the parents that allowed their children to come and share in the fun with us.”
