Gautrain workers have embarked on an industrial action following a deadlock in negotiations over a 10 per cent wage increase and bonuses.
Unfortunately, wage negotiations have deadlocked and as a result a strike will commence tomorrow morning, 30 July. An operational plan is being finalised and the details of which will be communicated later this afternoon.

According to the commuter rail system, some striking workers at the depot have been preventing buses from exiting causing major delays in service.
Commuters at the airport, Centurion, Sandton and Park Station are the most affected.
Striking workers have been preventing buses from exiting the depot and as such buses scheduled to service the airport service as well as Centurion, Sandton and Park stations have been delayed. We will keep you updated.

However, a contingency plan has been put in place and commuters are encouraged to familiarise themselves with it as to prevent any inconveniences.

Please note:
- A reduced service started this morning, 30 July at 5.45am
- A peak period service between 5.45am to 9.00am and between 4pm and 7pm will apply with trains between Sandton and Centurion every 12 minutes and Sandton and Park Station every 20 minutes.
- No train service will be available during off-peak periods, only Sandton, Centurion and Park Station will be open.
- Buses will service only Sandton, Centurion and Park Station on their usual routes.
