Vorna Valley man allegedly head-butts girlfriend while she breastfeeds their one-year-old baby

MIDRAND – A woman has opened a case of domestic violence against her boyfriend.

A man has been arrested in Vorna Valley after he allegedly returned home drunk and became violent.

“The victim has revealed to the police that her boyfriend returned home drunk and started head-butting her while she was breastfeeding their one-year-old baby,” said the Midrand police spokesperson Matome Tlamela.

“The complainant further alleged that the suspect was also hostile to the children, a three-year-old and 10-year-old, who were watching TV.

“Police were told that the complainant ran outside in an attempt to find help while the boyfriend continued assaulting her and eventually pushed her to the ground.”

Police believe that the cause of the violence is a result of alcohol abuse.

Tlamela revealed that although the woman did not have any visible injuries, she reported it. “This case should encourage women to break the silence on abuse and report such incidents to the police all the time,” concluded Tlamela.
