Suspect allegedly breaks woman’s car mirror before speeding away

MIDRAND – A bike-rider who was arrested by police for malicious damage to property, is out on bail

 

A biker, who was arrested by the Midrand police for malicious damage to property was granted bail at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court on 28 May.

“The man was arrested after a woman laid a charge against him alleging that he broke her car mirror then sped off on his bike,” said Midrand police spokesperson, Sergeant Matome Tlamela.

According to the police, the complainant’s statement read that while she was waiting at the traffic lights on the Old Pretoria Road, a biker approached her demanding she put her phone down and also bumped her vehicle mirror when he was speedily passing her vehicle on his motorbike.

“The complainant was able to track down the biker to his workplace and alerted the police, who received confirmation that the suspect worked there and was immediately arrested when the police arrived at his workplace,” said Tlamela.
