Café Capriole founder hands over the reins

MIDRAND – Café Capriole introduces its new menu along with the new team.

The reins have been handed over at Café Capriole at the South African Lipizzaners in Kyalami, which means new staff as well as a new menu.

The café was originally founded by Yvette Wilde who recently handed the ropes to Tania van Heerden. The new team is made up of Vernon Whitemore, Ruth Luhanga, Sheila Ncube, Danielle During along with Tania and her son Maximilian van Heerden. All six members of the team are residents from Sandton who drive through every Sunday in the early morning to serve breakfast and lunch at the café before and after the show.

The café gave moms a day to remember. “Mother’s Day was so very special with the best-dressed mother winning a bottle of champagne and a massage voucher from our café,” said Tania.

The café specialises in outdoor cooking – with bacon and egg rolls, prego rolls and Maximilian’s home-made tomato relish on their new menu. Maximilian, Tania’s son, is the youngest chef at 14 and cooking is one of his passions.

“Our milkshakes are a big crowd pleaser, and champagne is a favourite with our patrons celebrating a special occasion. We also host events at the café with a live Lipizzaner unicorn for children,” said Tania.
