Serious collision on Summit Road leaves one person trapped in their vehicle

BLUE HILLS – The fire department used the "Jaws of Life" to free one of the victims who was trapped in their vehicle.

At around 6.55pm on Wednesday evening, 16 May, emergency services responded to reports of a serious collision on Summit Road near Plantation Road in Blue Hills.

Netcare 911 paramedics and other services attended to five patients who had been injured in the two vehicles, including two young boys. One adult male had sustained very serious injuries.

The fire department used the “Jaws of Life” to free one of the victims who was trapped in their vehicle.

Once stabilised, the injured were transported by ambulances to hospital for further assessment and care.

Metro police were on scene to investigate the incident.
