Rabie Ridge police are pleased with the results of their constant joint operations with Metro police, patrollers and local security companies which has led to a high number of arrests in April.
The following 186 arrests are successes obtained through police operations:
- 10 for robbery
- 30 for assault
- 12 for domestic violence
- 3 for housebreaking
- 3 for unlicensed firearm
- 1 for possession of a dangerous weapon
- 40 for possession of dagga
- 20 for reckless and negligent driving
- 40 for drunk driving
- 6 for theft
- 4 for burglaries
- 8 for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle
- 4 for rape
- 3 for business robbery
- 2 for common robbery.
“The police implemented stop and searches, foot patrols and roadblocks in the area in the fight against crime, and the acting station commander of Rabie Ridge Police Station Luitenant Colonel Francois van der Merwe has congratulated his officials for a sterling performance,” said Rabie Ridge spokesperson Captain Mofana Masela.
“Such outcomes are aimed at improving police and community relationships as well as acknowledging police performance. Community members should report crime regardless of how small or big it may be,” said Van der Merwe.
