The Rabie Ridge police are warning residents against bogus police officers who are committing crimes in the area.
The spokesperson for the Rabie Ridge Police Station Captain Mofana Masela said they have received reports of the bogus policemen wearing police uniforms and conducting roadblocks in which they rob motorists.
“We urge motorists and residents to be alert and report to the police any similar incident or suspicion of such acts,” said Masela.
He said the alleged criminals discredited the police force and put the lives of community members at risk. Masela added that the police have already established strategies to help nab the perpetrators
“We would also like to advise the members of the police force to safeguard their uniforms. Unused uniforms should be handed in to the employer for proper management and to prevent such incidences from happening”.
Masela also requested the community to work with the police to catch the criminals.
