5 suspects cuffed during Waterfall attempted land invasion

WATERFALL – Police have said about 2 000 people attempted to invade the piece of land in Waterfall yesterday, 24 March.

Police have confirmed five suspects were arrested in Waterfall yesterday, 24 March, in an attempted land invasion incident.

Information just in is that Metro police are on standby again today, 25 March, as it is believed that people are ‘registering’ for land in Marlboro and then making their way to a piece of open land in Waterfall to invade the land. More information on this will follow as it comes to light.

Yesterday, police spokesperson Captain Meyer said about 2 000 people gathered at a piece of land in Waterfall and attempted to invade the land at around 11am yesterday.

Police have arrested five people for malicious damage to property.

There were five people arrested and charged with malicious damage to property.

The Midrand Reporter understands that the attempted land invaders broke down the fence to the private property and attempted to build shacks.
