An unknown group of people attempted an illegal land invasion on the corner of Mastof Road and Allandale Road near Klipfontein and Jukskei open fields on 24 February.
The Rabie Ridge police, Metro police and security companies negotiated with the mob in an attempt to ensure everyone’s safety as well as to disperse unruly crowd members.
“The angry mob demanded to invade Jukskei land when they were approached by the police to vacate the premises and put an end to their illegal land-hijacking mission,” said the Rabie Ridge spokesperson, Captain Matsobane Masela.
Police officers have resorted to a court interdict application to ensure that nothing of this nature takes place in the community again.
It’s not yet known as to what had encouraged the invasion and why that particular land.
