Rabie Ridge police fight crime with increase in operations

MIDRAND – Rabie Ridge police officers have conducted numerous operations in an attempt to curb crime.

 

Rabie Ridge Police Station has conducted numerous operations in an attempt to curb crime in the area.

During these operations, the local community policing forum and community patrollers partner with the police to reduce crime in the policing precinct.

“The operations included roadblocks, patrols, stop and search and tavern compliance,” said Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson, Captain Matsobane Masela.

A number of suspects were arrested during the operations for various crimes ranging from assault, burglary, possession of stolen goods, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle, domestic violence, robberies, fraud, possession of drugs, driving under the influence, rape, murder, possession of unlicenced firearm and others.

“These interventions play a great part in reducing crime in our communities. Station Commander Colonel Johanna Ngoma was encouraged to see operations involving dedicated community members. She encouraged more legal community mobilisation to squeeze crime in Rabie Ridge.”
