IN PICTURES: Readers talk about school application problems

JOBURG – The education department is faced with the mammoth task of placing over 3 000 children in schools, after thousands of additional applications. We asked our readers what they thought about the number of children who are not at school.

The government should provide mobile classrooms if the issue is that classes are overcrowded – but every child should definitely be in school.
Government must make a plan to ensure that every child, whether they can afford school fees or not, goes to school. Every child deserves to learn.
It is very worrying because every child should be at school. It is also sad for those turned back because they are over the required age.
The department must engage in proper planning to ensure that every child is accommodated. It must work on adding more infrastructure.
