Only a handful of people showed up for the A Re Sebetseng citywide clean-up campaign at Kyalami on 20 January.
“If only the residents saw this as an enjoyable exercise and not a chore. It could have been better. Some ANC guys turned up. It’s good to see them come and support,” said Ward 132 councillor, Annette Deppe.
The clean-up took place by the Juskei River bridge near Kyalami Glen Estate.
Although the turnout was not as expected, those who braced the sun managed to clean and fill many bags with litter.
“The sand also got swept away at the bridge.”
