WARNING: Motorists advised to expect delays as remedial work on M1 scheduled until end of February

JOBURG – There will be delays on the M1 highway daily between 9am and 3pm.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) will undertake remedial work on the M1 highway to accommodate the installation of cables and future services, from tomorrow, 24 January until the end of February.

The construction and repairs will be limited to the centre median barrier on the M1 between the Killarney bends and the St Andrews road off-ramp from 9am to 3pm daily.

The fast lane northbound and southbound will be closed, reducing the number of lanes in both directions from three to two. The lanes will reopen outside the designated timeframes to allow for flow of traffic during peak hours.

Motorists are advised to expect delays throughout the construction period, travel at reduced speeds upon entering the construction zone and adhere to roadworks signs.

Motorists are urged to be vigilant of construction workers on site, and flag persons will be on hand to alert motorists.
