Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are currently protesting outside the H&M store in Mall of Africa. This comes after the clothing company released an advertisement deemed racist.
The H&M store has closed its doors, along with the surrounding stores. Both police and security are at the scene.
Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, Provincial Commissioner for the South African Police Service, has confirmed that the EFF are protesting at the store and added, “We are at the scene to monitor that no criminal activity takes place and we will remain here until the matter is defused.”
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
