Midrand Police Station receives boost in workforce

MIDRAND – Increased workforce at local police station means more hands on deck to fight crime.

Midrand Police Station recently received a boost to their workforce after welcoming five new constables who are fresh out of college and eager to assist the police force in putting criminals behind bars.

“I am pleased to announce that the station has received much-needed additions to assist in meeting all objectives of the station in the new year,” said Midrand Police Station commander, Brigadier Molefi David Tsotsotso.

Spokesperson for the police station, Warrant Officer Mmakgomo Semono said, “The station has been understaffed for some time now. We remain hopeful that our fight against crime will even be more intense and reap better rewards from all measures put in place.”

Chairperson for the Midrand Community Policing Forum, Steven Johnstone welcomed the new members. “They should learn from the officers who know the area very well and that communication with the community is imperative in our relationship,” said Johnstone.
Semono said, “The new year will start off on a high note and criminals must be aware that their breathing space has been squeezed.”
