Gauteng MEC for Community Safety welcomes release of kidnapped businessman

JOBURG – The businessman was found in Olifantsfontein at around 10.30pm on Monday night.

 

The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, has welcomed the release of Tshwane’s prominent businessman, Omar Carrim, in Olifantsfontein on Monday night by his kidnappers.

The businessman was kidnapped on 3 August and his car was found torched outside Pretoria. He was found in Olifantsfontein at around 10.30pm on Monday night, 18 December. He is currently admitted at an undisclosed hospital where he is receiving the necessary medical attention.

“I am very delighted that finally, Omar Carrim, has been released safely and reunited with his family. I am confident the Law Enforcement Officers will work around the clock and leave no stone unturned to ensure that perpetrators of this crime are arrested and face the full might of law,” said MEC Nkosi-Malobane.

Social cohesion activist, Yusuf Abramjee gave thanks for the well-wishes.
