A man from Ivory Park in Midrand has been arrested for the murder of his girlfriend.
Midrand police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmakgomo Semono said the man, who is soon to appear in the Midrand Magistrates’ Court, confessed to killing his girlfriend after an alleged argument on the afternoon of 10 November.
“The suspect called police on Friday evening and lied, saying someone had killed his girlfriend and he wanted to report it. During an interrogation of the suspect, he finally confessed to killing his girlfriend,” he said.
“The suspect was arrested and he took police to the crime scene in President Park where he had allegedly killed her following an earlier argument where they lived in Ivory Park. He also revealed that he has a one-month-old baby with the deceased. Investigations are ongoing.”
