Sagewood School believes in the gift of giving and has once again pledged to be part of the Santa Shoebox project that distributes gifts at Christmas time to underprivileged children throughout South Africa.
While the Santa Shoeboxes will touch the lives of many children and bring smiles to their faces, it has taught Sagewoodians that they can make a difference to the lives of children less fortunate than themselves.
The Santa Shoebox project helped teach powerful lessons of compassion, empathy and giving.
Head of academics at Sagewood School, Vanitha Govindasamy said, “The spirit of kindness and giving is the best gift Sagewood wishes to give to our learners this Christmas.”
Govindasamy added they would like to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to their learners and parents who generously contributed to the Santa Shoebox initiative.
“A very special thank you goes to those learners whose contributions went above and beyond our expectations. We know that these gifts will make a child’s Christmas a little brighter and their world a little better,” said Govindasamy, adding a quote by Anne Frank: ‘No one has ever become poor from giving’.
