UPDATE: Security officer shot dead in Olievenhoutbosch

OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH – It is believed the security officer was robbed of his firearm.

TRSS has confirmed one of their reaction officers was shot and killed in Olievenhoutbosch last night (25 October).

According to Arrive Alive, reports allege the victim was in his security vehicle on a sand road between the veld and the informal settlement section in Olievenhoutbosch. The thirty-three-year-old man had been shot several times and died at the scene.

The South African Police Service, as well as Metro Police, were at the scene to investigate the incident.

Reports this evening, 25 October, indicate a security officer was shot dead in Olievenhoutbosch.

Netcare911 told our sister publication, the Centurion Rekord that the incident took place at 6.37pm but further details were not yet known.

Social cohesion activist, Yusuf Abramjee took to Twitter to say a security officer had been shot dead in Olievenhoutbosch. Abramjee added that the officer was robbed of a firearm.
