Ivory Park police in need of murder information

MIDRAND – Ivory Park police are appealing to the community for information in connection with the body of a man found with multiple stab wounds.

Ivory Park police are appealing for information regarding the murder and identification of a man whose body was found lying on the road at Ivory Park’s Extension 2 in the early hours of 30 September.

“Police on routine patrol came across a body lying in a pool of blood. Unaware that the man had already died, the police contacted the paramedics who, on arrival, confirmed that the man was dead,” said Ivory Park Police Station spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane.

Matimulane said the deceased is estimated to be in his late 20s or early 30s, had five stab wounds, three under the left arm, one under the left ear and the other one next to the spine.

“He was wearing a white T-shirt and white takkies, and there were pieces of beer bottles and bricks next to the body. Those responsible for this cruel act may have fled the scene when they saw a vehicle coming their way.”

Ivory Park Station Commander Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo is appealing for any piece of information from the nearby community members.

“Chances are the deceased may have screamed, judging by the injuries inflicted upon him. And we, as the police, believe that the screams may have alerted people nearby of what was going on, thus leading to someone seeing something,” said Ngcobo.

Anyone with information must contact the Ivory Park Police Station on 011 990 9600, or alternatively, inform the police on 08600 10111.
