MIDRAND – Murder suspect hands himself in after two weeks of hide and seek.

 

After two weeks in hiding following an alleged murder, a wanted Ivory Park resident has handed himself over to police on 25 September.

The 26-year-old man is wanted in connection with a murder which he allegedly committed on 15 September.

“It is alleged that the suspect met his ex-girlfriend in the company of another man on a street, resulting in the suspect becoming angry. He is alleged to have gone home and fetched a knife. Upon his return, the ex-girlfriend fled the scene and he stabbed the victim (23) who died on the scene,” said Ivory Park Police Station spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane.

“The suspect has been charged with murder and is expected to appear in Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon,” said Matimulane.
