Spring Day hike in Kyalami
MIDRAND – A group of 11 young children participated in a two-day 14km hike and camp in Kyalami.

Maximilian van Heerden hosted the Adventure Spring Day Hike for 11 children of the 1st German Scout Group between the ages of 11 and 14 on 2 September in Kyalami, Midrand.
Van Heerden led the educational fun hike for two days. The group camped overnight at Whisken Guest House.
The activities on the day were as follows:
- A tour of the famous Lipizzaners Farm inclusive of the history of the Lipizzaners that were saved in WWII
- A guided tour of the Mapatiza Mine and the differences between stones
- Time at the Happy Otters Swim School after a long and hot 14km hike
- A lesson on how to make pizza from scratch
The group then hiked back another 6km through Beaulieu to Lipizzaners Farm. The aim of the tour was to form great relations and friendships.
