A passenger in the Sandero who appeared to be a security guard was allegedly shooting from the window of the vehicle at the Ford Ranger. The people in the double cab were apparently wearing camouflaged outfits and balaclavas and allegedly fired back at the Sandero.
Faber said he was working on a construction site nearby when the incident took place.

“It all happened so fast,” he said. “I was unable to even react but at the end of the shootout there were bullet shells around us.”

According to Faber, the police arrived on the scene about five minutes after the incident.
The police have confirmed that a shootout took place but are yet to comment what actually took place during the incident.
