Enhancing education in Tembisa

MIDRAND – Life 4 U Foundation improves education in Tembisa with a school holiday programme.

As part of Mandela Day, the Life 4 U Foundation hosted a school holiday programme for children in Tembisa and assisted them with their schoolwork, sports activities and team-building games.

ERM Foundation donated R10 000 to Life 4 U Foundation on 20 July as part of their Mandela Day outreach programme. The money will be used to further the foundation’s various projects in the community.

Simon Molekwa, the project manager at the foundation, said they welcome the donation because they assist the community with limited resources, therefore, any form of assistance is always welcome.

Molekwa said the foundation also receives support from Ahihlangeni Tembisa School Holiday Programme, the Clear River Campaign, Feed our Kids, People Solutions, Iwisa Maize Meal, KMC and infoVerge on various projects. The support encourages the foundation to reach more and more people in Tembisa because their efforts are seen and supported not only by the community but also by organisations.

“Volunteers and participation from community members are always welcomed and encouraged because a lot of hands make it possible to get the work done in a short period of time and reaching more people in need of help,” said Molekwa.

Life 4 U Foundation focuses on assisting the community with poverty relief and a project to build school toilets among other things.
