Pearson Institute of Higher Education will host a colour run for good cause

MIDRAND – Residents of Midrand are invited to attend a colour run for a good cause.

The student branch of the Black Management Forum at the Pearson Institute of Higher Education in Midrand will host a colour run on 12 August against violence against women.

President of the Student Representative Council at the Institute, Pearl Ntshehi said the student body decided to embark on the colour run following the recent events of violence against women in the country. “We have heard reports of women being abducted and killed recently. Our aim, together with the student representative council, is to raise awareness on the independence of the female body,” said Ntshehi.

The colour run will take place from 10 am until 2 pm and will cover a distance of 2km.

Ntsheni said the money raised on the day would be donated to organisations which assist female victims of violence and abuse. The day will offer fun activities and provide entrepreneurial education to the youth. “We will have an entrepreneurship [offering] where we also teach young people about entrepreneurship.”
