Midrand SPCA urges community members to help with blankets and donations

MIDRAND – Midrand SPCA is calling on the community for donations.

The Midrand SPCA is in need of financial assistant and is calling on the community to support them so they can continue their good work of caring for injured or unwanted animals.

Brenda Lucas from the Midrand SPCA said, “Donations to the facility have decreased and we are appealing to the public for assistance.

“We want to continue giving the animals at the SPCA and surrounding areas the best possible care and to do this we need the support of the community. The intake of animals has increased significantly over the past few months with people being unable to afford the basic care of their animals or they are forced to move into smaller homes and cannot take their pets with them.”

According to Lucas, the organisation takes care of between 120 to 150 animals daily and provides basic health care to all.

The Midrand SPCA said its in desperate need of doing repairs to the kennels, runs and various other areas on the property.
