Midrand police arrest 22 suspects

MIDRAND – Midrand police joint operations resulted in 22 arrests.

 

The Midrand Police held an integrated operation on 11 May from 6pm to midnight.

Warrant Officer Mmakgomo Semono said he is pleased with the results obtained from the successful operation. This was one of the first operations under the new station commander, David Tsotsotso.

The police joined forces with the community policing forum, Metro police and neighbourhood watch.

The following arrests were made during the operation:

  •  10 for gambling
  •  7 for prostitution
  •  3 for drugs
  •  2 for the possession of dagga.

“All in all, 22 suspects will appear in the Midrand Magistrates’ court on 12 May,” said Semono.
