Man arrested for fatal stabbing in Ivory Park and police are on the hunt for the other suspects

MIDRAND – One suspect is arrested after a group of men allegedly stabbed a man to death in Ivory Park.

 

A man was arrested by Ivory Park police officers in Kaalfontein for an alleged murder incident in which a young man succumbed to stab wounds at Ext 11 on 21 April.

Ivory Park Police Station’s communications officer, Captain Bernard Matimulane said, “It is alleged that the suspect was part of a group which stabbed the victim (27) after an argument in Ext 11.”

After the alleged attack, the victim was able to flee to a neighbouring house after sustaining multiple injuries, however, succumbed to his injuries and died.

His body was found by the owner of the house who immediately alerted the police.

The victim sustained three stab wounds on his legs and injuries on his back.

One suspect, who was identified with the help of community members who witnessed the incident, was arrested. The search for the other suspects alleged to be involved in the murder is underway.

Ivory Park Police Station station commander, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo said, “We are tremendously thankful to witnesses who came forward with information, especially those that went as far as making statements under oath to the police.”
